The PFL 2024 Playoffs kickoff in Nashville on Friday, August 2nd at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. The main card features four playoff bouts, headlined by heavyweights Denis Goltsov and Tim Johnson. The co-main event spotlights an undefeated Dakota Ditcheva taking on Jena Bishop in the women’s flyweight division. Other heavyweight and flyweight playoff bouts include Oleg Popov versus Linton Vassell and Liz Carmouche against Talia Santos, respectively. Each fighter will be looking to secure their place in the November finals.
PFL 2024 Playoffs Nashville Main Card
Heavyweight Playoff Main Event: Denis Goltsov (34-8) vs. Tim Johnson (18-9)
X-Factor: Goltsov’s well-rounded skills make him a solid favorite, but Johnson’s resilience and knockout power can turn the tide in an instant.
Prediction: Goltsov’s technical proficiency and ability to control the pace will likely keep Johnson at bay. Denis Goltsov will dominate most of the match, winning by unanimous decision.
Women’s Flyweight Playoff Co-Main Event: Dakota Ditcheva (12-0) vs. Jena Bishop (7-1)
X-Factor: Ditcheva’s undefeated streak and striking clash with Bishop’s grappling. The key to victory will be who can impose their game plan more effectively.
Prediction: Bishop’s grappling skills and ability to control the fight on the ground will likely neutralize Ditcheva’s striking advantage. Jena Bishop wins with a well-timed submission in the third round for a crazy upset.
Heavyweight Playoffs: Oleg Popov (18-1) vs. Linton Vassell (24-9)
X-Factor: Grappling exchanges and ground control could be pivotal. Popov’s has a high level of skill and consistency, while Vassell’s experience and versatility offer him multiple paths to victory.
Prediction: Popov’s ability to adapt and score points consistently will edge out Vassell. Oleg Popov wins by split decision in a close battle.
Women’s Flyweight Playoffs: Liz Carmouche (22-7) vs. Talia Santos (21-3)
X-Factor: Carmouche’s experience and strategic mindset will be tested against Santos’ striking and finishing ability.
Prediction: Santos’ striking and ability to maintain a high pace will challenge Carmouche. This will allow Santos to consistently land strikes and avoid prolonged grappling exchanges. Talia Santos wins by unanimous decision.
