The Main Event of the Evening
The main event featuring Arman Tsarukyan and Beneil Dariush is a classic old school vs new school fight. Dariush has been in a total of 22 UFC fights, while Tsarukyan is considered to be an elite rising star in the lightweight division. Tsarukyan fought lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in his UFC debut. He was very competitive in that fight and showed glimpses of stardom early on his career. Now with seven out of eight wins since that fight, with his one loss being very controversial, he is known as the dark horse of the division.
Dariush, on the other hand, is coming off a loss to former champion Charles Oliveira after winning eight straight. This will be the toughest test since Makhachev for Tsarukyan. If he gets it done, he will finally be considered in the title contention at lightweight. Look for Tsarukyan to settle into the fight before taking over and stopping Dariush late in the third round.
