As the 2025 MLB season approaches its final stretch, the playoff races are heating up across both leagues. In the American League, the Toronto Blue Jays lead the AL East with an 81-59 record (.579 PCT), holding a 3.5-game edge over the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, both vying for wild card spots. The Detroit Tigers dominate the AL Central at 81-60 (.574 PCT), with a 10-game lead over the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Guardians. In the AL West, the Houston Astros top the division at 77-63 (.550 PCT), with the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers trailing by 4 and 5.5 games, respectively.

In the National League, the Philadelphia Phillies hold the NL East lead at 80-59 (.576 PCT), with the New York Mets 5.5 games back. The Milwaukee Brewers command the NL Central with an impressive 86-54 record (.614 PCT), 6 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs. The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the NL West at 78-61 (.561 PCT), with the San Diego Padres and a surging San Francisco Giants (9-1 in their last 10) in contention for wild card spots. As the postseason looms, these leaders and challengers promise an exciting September sprint.
