MetLife Launches Soccer Challenge Supporting Education and Youth Sports

MetLife and Global Citizen are using the excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026 to launch a new social media campaign focused on education and youth sports around the world.

The campaign, called Footwork for Futures, asks people to post a short video of themselves juggling or attempting to juggle, a soccer ball on social media using the hashtag #FootworkForFutures.

Participants can upload videos on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X or LinkedIn. Videos may also be submitted through the Global Citizen app.

For every eligible video submission, MetLife will donate five dollars to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The company says the campaign will continue until July 19, 2026 or until donations reach $100,000.

The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund supports organizations around the world that provide children with access to education and sports programs. MetLife Foundation previously contributed $9 million as a founding donor of the initiative.

“Footwork for Futures helps make that mission fun, real and accessible,” said Nuria Garcia, Head of Global Sustainability at MetLife and Chair of MetLife Foundation.

Organizers say the challenge is open to everyone regardless of experience or skill level. Participants are encouraged to nominate friends and family members to join the campaign online.

According to campaign guidelines, videos must clearly show a real person safely juggling or attempting to juggle a soccer ball while following platform rules and campaign standards.

MetLife says the campaign aims to help strengthen communities by supporting programs that build confidence and opportunity for children worldwide.
